Donà Blanc

The Donà Blanc is a cuvée of Pinot Blanc (60%) and Chardonnay (40%).
Both of these wines have been present in the Alto Adige region for more than a century and, when cultivated in suitable areas, produce wines that are remarkably seductive.
They possess a mature bouquet, a mild structure and a mineral quality that is particularly evident after maturing for a few years.

The grapes used for the Donà Blanc come from old vines that grow on two different terrains.
The first is light, sandy and porphyritic in nature, whereas the second is heavy, calcareous, and rich in clay and gravel.

From the delicate, careful pressing of the aromatic grapes in full maturity, we obtain the must which is then left to ferment for several weeks in wooden casks.
This is followed by a natural fermentation. By virtue of its long permanence in wooden casks in contact with the yeasts (18 months) and its maturation in bottles (10 months), the Donà Blanc acquires roundness and softness while developing its full-bodied mineral character.
