Donà Noir

Donà Noir
Alto Adige Pinot Nero DOC

The Donà Noir is produced from 100% Pinot Nero grapes.

We planted the first Pinot Nero vines in 1995 in Rungg, Cornaiano, at an altitude of 500 metres.
Here, on a sunny, breezy slope facing east, the Burgundy plants have found an excellent medium glacial terrain on which to grow.
We are especially proud that the cultivation of our vines is based on a real sense of harmony between the terrain, the plant, the animals, man and the cosmos, and the bio-dynamic cultivation of our vineyard is a direct consequence of this.
On such a healthy, vital and biologically active terrain grow resistant vines that bestow upon us concentrated grapes that ooze with flavour.
These grapes are characterized by the terrain and environment in which they grow, and by those of us that accompany our vineyard on its evolutionary path.

The careful and delicate vinification process enables us to preserve the extraordinary and delicate quality of our Pinot Nero grapes.
The natural yeasts allow the Pinot Nero to ferment for three to four weeks in oak vats in a natural and tranquil manner.
The fact that we refuse to use filtration, and the long permanence in wooden casks (22 months) and ageing in bottles (20 months) provide the time and conditions that ideally suit the development of our Pinot Nero’s unique character.

Donà Noir has a concentrated, deep fragrance and is powerful and warm in the mouth- with an original spicy harmony that is all its own.
